I'm having housewarming in my new rented house. Its only for work Friend's. How can I make it a good one?

What I like to do is keep it simple.  I decide on a theme and then just keep it simple.  For example you could do a summer bbq.  If you're not sitting down to dinner, just pre-cook some chicken breast on skewers with bbq sauce (easy to make and eat), maybe some grilled fresh veggies with a basil salad dressing drizzle.  A summery fruit salad or just some melon cut up.  And the drinks are easy.  Iced tea or lemonade, for the alcholics maybe some sangia or just a simple bottle of chilled white wine and some cold beer.  Decorating is easy and cheap.  All the dollar stores have great summer stuff right now.  Maybe a red and white checked table cloth.  Have Fun!
