Question:

I'm having issues painting my own skateboard deck?

I ripped off the old sticker on my skateboard deck, put a couple coats of primer down, and then 2 coats of bright red paint. I have a flexible plastic stencil for the logo. I'm going to put on it on the center of the board. I stopped though, because the deck is convex on the bottom (curving slightly upward) and I can't make the stencil lay flat against it. I can't tape it down because I need to make sure that the edges of the design get painted. Any ideas on how to make it lay flat against the board without damaging the paint? P.S. it is important that I can remove the stencil afterwards.

  1. Get a bottle of rubber cement and very LIGHTLY cover the 'down' side of your stencil.  It will stay where you put it, and can be very easily removed, and when the stencil paint is dry, you can just 'rub it with a soft piece of cloth or paper' to remove any 'left-over' rubber cement.
