my frigidaire gas oven (aproximately 15 years old) was in the middle of baking when it all of a sudden started beeping and the screen flashed the letters F5, i am worried that it may be leaking gas or something.. it lasted for about 10 minutes and then stopped just as suddenly as it had started.. any clues as to what had happened..?

  1. F5

    Clock failure

Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC)

more than likely a bad mainboard for the touchpad  or clock if they are seperate components.

my recommedation is to start looking for a model that you like and keep an eye on it.  the board will eventually go out and since it is 15 years old, it might be time to replace it with a new one.

  2. As long as it was still lit, you do not have to worry about leaking gas.   Leaking gas has a distinctive odor and you will recognize that.

You can call Frigidaire at: USA 1-800-599-7569 or Canada 1-800-213-9398.

The F5 error code may be found here:  http://www.frigidaire.com/support/manual...

(You will need to enter the model number.)

  3. this is the CONTACT US page for Frigidaire.

you can email them or call them.

  4. Electronic oven control failure.
