I'm very charismatic, I speak both of Canada's national languages, i love interacting with customers and i excel in sales and often meet or exceed quotas. I'm taking marketing management this semester!

How ever, i am stuck at a job that i absolutely hate. I just turned 18 so i never had the chance before, to apply for actual good jobs, like working for a phone company like Rogers, Solo Mobile, Telus, Telebooth, etc. I work at superstore right now! (WHICH SUCKS SO MUCH) I applied there because graduation was coming up and i needed a job asap, and the local gym is close to it as well as the fact that it is close to my house!

I want to apply for a job involved with cellular sales, but I am going on vacation in 5 days! I'm miserable at my job, and i'm afraid to tell my supervisor that I actually need 14 days off.. not 11 days like she thought. She is always cranky so I hate bothering with her.

BASICALLY, I don't know if i should just quit or beg her for more days off. Because i hate the job, but i need the money to pay my credit card that I used to my plane ticket. Or should I just quit anyway and apply for jobs when I come back?

MY QUESTION : Should I apply for jobs now, and just let them know that I'm only available to start on the day I come back for vacation? Or should I ask my supervisor for days off, even though I'm gonna quit as soon as I get another job?

... Will the workplaces not hire me because I'm not available to start right away? I can start in september! HELP ME!

  1. Apply now the jobs will wait for you if you are a good candidate.  At your age make sure you leave your current job in an appropriate fashion because your new job will probably want to check out your previous work experience.  Also since you say you are good at sales look hard for a job that pays hourly and gives high commissions.  Something like jewelry would be great. (There are plenty on yahoo hot jobs)

  2. I am having a really hard time finding a job right now so here is what i would do if i was you,

Deal with your bitchy supervisor, and ask for the days off,

When you get back start applying for the jobs,

Then gracfuly quit your current job when you find a new one,

It's the safest path, you don't want to get stuck Jobless
