I'm having problems with my memory card. It's not reading it when it plug it into the computer.?

Question

I put my memory card into my sister's computer, and it wasn't reading the card. I took it out and put the memory card back into the camera, and it says to power off or format. If I format, then it'll erase all my pictures on my camera. I want to upload them to my camera. I was wondering how I could possibly recover my pictures. This is REALLY important to me. Can someone help me, please? Thanks
