I'm having problems with the AVG anti-virus software.?

It says that the components are not updated and I'm not sure how to update them. Should I uninstall the program and re-install it?

Double click on the AVG Control Center Icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen (Systray)

There should be an Update now option on the left. Click it to scan for and apply an update if available

AVG is no longer the best free anti-virus. Since v8 there have been obvious problems with heuristic detection, wasted bandwidth and extra load on servers due to the new LinkScanner 'feature'.

Avira AntiVir is a recommended alternative.

No, theres been a ongoing update problem with AVG, just let it do it when its working again.
