ANY SUGGESTIONS...PLEASE

She used to eat everything from Asparagus to Zucchinni's but now it's only meat, chicken and some fruit.

She would also eat carrott and zucchinni muffin's in the past but won't now. I'm feeling a bit lost. I don't want her to miss out on her nutrition and vitamins.

  1. Maybe hide them in food...eg: if she'll eat potatos mash carrots in it!

Or you can be creative and make sauces to go with the meat---look up different sauces that use veggies! All you'll need is blender or maybe boil and mash! Will she eat baked beans, tomato soup, tomato sauce etc as they do have vitamins in.

You could also make it fun-your daughter can help cook-it can be simple things such as she can help mix, mash in the butter etc if she has had fun with it she may be more willing to eat it!

Portion: only have a small portion on there-maybe two mouthfuls...then gently build it up. You could cook more and have it in the kitchen and if she eats it all she can have seconds.

  2. Try serving it a little differently.  My son celery with Ranch Dressing and broccoli with a little cheese.

It's actually normal for them to do this at this age.  In a few months she'll be over it.  My son will do this every now and then for a week or so.  I give him V8 Splash that has a full serving of fruits and veges in it to make sure he's getting enough.

  3. I would say she is just going through a stage and she will probubly start eating vegables in a while but you have a right to want her to keep getting all her neutrients your best bet would be to get her to drink thigs like V8 splash or other fruit vegtable drinks you could also make a warm vegetable sause to dip her chiken in here is what you do

in a blender blend  4 peices cooked  asperigus cooked 5 slices zucchinni 3 slices cooked eggplant put it all in a bowl now put in 2 table spoons each of mozzerella and chedder cheese put in 5-8 tablespons of ranch dressing and 2 table spoons or sour cream mis this all together and make it smooth and creamy keep it in a container and refrideate this keeps for UPTO 2 weeks when you choose to serve warm in microwave but remember to stir and make shure it's not too hot.  this is optional but you can put 3-4 table spoons of mashed potatoe init when it comes time to serve.

you may also want to try potatoe skins

bake your potatoes cut the potatoes in half and scoop out the flesh or inside you can get her to eat this put some margarine in it and put in some salt and peppr put some cheese in it and stir now back to the skins first spread a little bit of melted butter on the skins put a little salt a little pepper and a little bit of chedder chease on the skins now bake at 500 on broil until golden brown and cut up into bite sized peices potatoes are a great sourse of vitamins and minerals

you can also grind up some vitamins and put it in her favorite yogurt

if none of thease work get her to take the flinstones vitamins for kids that won't eat vegatables and make shure she keeps eating her fruit

also make macand cheese or spagehetti and incorperate blended vegetables in homemade sause the vegtables you can put in thease are (all cooked) egg plant carrot zucchinni broccoli florets ( the very top of broccoli-don't blend thease )

  4. just like everyone else's answer. All of our toddlers go throu the stage of not wanting to eating, only the foods their perfer. My daughers are the same way, they refuse's HEALTHY food. I used to get frustrated and run out of ideas to make them. I just let them feed themselves if not then, they will some day. Just give you toddler vitamins. Dont worry if she/he is hungary they will eat. good luck

  5. I think most of us go through the same thing. My mother used to take care of kids while I was growing up and I have 2 kids of my own, but it seems to me that kids seem to at one point in their lives, choose one food group over the other.

I think, as reasonable, responsible parents, we all worry about our kids food choices and preferences, but in my experience, as long as they see you enjoying the foods you wished they would eat, they will eventually come back around and start to enjoy those again..........as long as ypu keep putting some on the plate in front of her. In the meantime, talk to your pediatrician about vitamin supplements.

Both of my children did the same thing.......ate all veggies as babies, then chose to eat nothing but meat. It was a phase that they outgrew. Now the still do prefer meat, but they will eat their veggies too.

  6. Ditto - my kids went thru phases of not wanting anything of a certain group.

My 16 month old will not touch anything green -  peas, broccoli, spinach etc. But if I chop them and mix them in with his spaghetti or pasta, he eats them up.  He also used to love sweet potatoe but suddenly stopped eating it.  I started to slice it and sautee it a pan with a little butter and sprinkle a tiny bit of cinnamon on it and he loves it again.

Kids actually like flavor more than we think they do.  There are a bunch of cookbooks out there that offer some good toddler recipes.  THE HEALTHY BABY MEAL PLANNER by Anabel Karmel is one of my favs.

  7. Kids seem to love throwing their parents for loops!

Try veggie sticks with dip (kids this age love to dip), or cut them into fun shapes.  Get creative and make monster toes or space balls (use your imagination to label ordinary foods with great names - broccoli trees did something great for my 4 year old).  Anything that may make it new and fun is worth trying.  You can always toss mild flavored veggies that have been pureed into yogurt or even ice cream.  Have her take a multivitamin, and remember, if it seems to upset you, it may give her reason to do it!  Lots of luck
