I have a canon powershot sd 1000. I took it to the beach and it got a little wet from my hands & wouldn't turn on. (I know now i made the mistake of turning it on while it was slightly wet) I immediately ran back up to my friends house and blew dry it(off) for awhile. The blow dryer was on a cool setting. I let it sit for a couple of hours and blew dry it more, and it worked fine after that! I used it for a week or so and then when i turned it on it said lens error restart, i did. I had to do it a couple of times until it actually worked.(The lens makes a little grinding noise whenever it goes in or out)

It turns on fine, the screen isnt broken and i can take pictures HOWEVER all of the pictures are extremely blurry. They are blurry before and after i take them. I know that its not on macro and on all of my usual settings, can anyone tell me what to do?!

It's less then a year old, only a couple of months actually, but i'm going away and i'd like to have it while i'm vacation.

  1. I doubt very much that wet hands caused the problem however, there has been a recall by Canon on the sd1000 for various ailments. I suggest you type powershot sd1000 recalls into a search and read about the problems others have had and take it from there.

  2. Perhaps you got water on the lens? Dried water on the glass would cause things to be blurry.
