I'm having trouble in installing Oracle 9i. How do i install it properly?

During the installation process it showed an error-

O\S error in starting service

I moved on and completed the installation

After the whole installation is complete it show errors like--

1- Dim-00019:create service erroer

2- ORA-12560 TNS:Protocol error

On entering the default user name (scott) and password (tiger) it showed the same 'TNS:Protocol error'.

I've tried installing it several times also i went to my computer's safe mode to install it but was not able to do it.

This error could come from the fact that you are not logged in as an administrator and have no rights to create a service on your Windows machine.

Oracle classify this as a ‘generic protocol adapter error’. It indicates that Oracle client does not know what instance to connect to or what TNS alias to use.
