I'm having trouble making my iPod play through my new stereo.. help please!?

Question

I purchased a COBY CX-CD377 cd stereo system today, which has an auxiliary input which says you can play your iPod, Zune, or other mp3 player through it. I've plugged my iPod nano into it and turned in on a song.. but for some reason I'm not getting any sound. But, Earlier I was listening to the radio on the system so I know it isn't the speakers.. help please! :)

make sure your volume is up, that your coby stereo is set to AUX for input, and make sure your ipod is playing and that the volume is set on the ipod to at least half or more.
