Question:

I'm having trouble removing some wallpaper?

I used a scorer and have sprayed a gel remover. Overall the paper is coming off; however, it looks like the previous owner did not primer the drywall. Some of the paper (the yellowish-glue part) is not coming off and/or is pulling some of the drywall off. Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy the problem and get the rest of the paper off? (PS I have tried to use the fabric softener trick and I'm still having trouble)

  1. If its really stuck just leave it. You could skim float over it and start over with paint or whatever.

  2. use steam.  you can get a steamer from most paint/paper places like sherwin williams i think, and yes, it sounds like you've pulled off the drywall paper.  It's fixable with drywall mud.  sounds like you've quite a mess on your hands.  If all else fails, try a belt sander....(just kidding, i don't think that will work)

  3. My parents just had this problem.

Used Vinegar and Water (1:1), a putty knife and a lot of elbow grease!

  4. If you get some SIZING  apply it to the paper,,,,,,,,,It will sorta melt it away...
