I'm having trouble with modthesims2.com downloads?

Question

how do i get the stuff that i downloaded onto my game. when i down load the stuff it appears in a seperate folder, and i've tried to put it into the sim2 folder but that doesn't seem to work.

uhm if i remember right u have to put certain things in certain folders look up a tutorial somewhere like on youtube or google
