  1. Same with me:(

Ive been practicing mine alot and found out that if my toss is higher, My serve is better!

Keep practicing it and try to figure out whats wrong with yours...Maybe your toss is too low too...Try tossing it higher, And hitting it while its higher in the air.

Or if your having trouble because your serves just aren't going in....Before you serve, Line up your arm with the ball like your going to shoot a bow and arrow.

That helps alot because it gets you lined up.

And hit straight all the way through...Dont move your hand crookid=)

  2. be sure to use the palm of your hand,

    it gives you maximum control.

& also transfer your body weight from one leg

to the other just as you hit.

but keep practicing, you'll gain consistancy !

good luck & i'm sure you'll be phenomenal in no time ! (:

  3. get a laundry basket and practice serving into it it really helped me get it at a good accuracy. Good luck with your serve

  4. When you serve (overhand or underhand) if you aim your hips torward your target, that is where it should go.  Only if you use your knuckles, it will go crazy.  if your overhand serving, then you should flick your wrist and it should soar over the net.  hope that helps!

  5. Well you really have to practice that on your own.. to some ppl it comes kinda natural but to others they need a lil practice... don't under estimate the power of wall drills :D like get the ball work on ur form with the wall.. each time focus on a new point on the wall.. if ur still not quite gettin it find somebody to look at ur form.. idk if u r under hand or over hand so hopefully this will help :D :D

  6. Basically, the hips have "a little" to do with where your ball goes.  Basic servers need to concentrate on a straight arm-swing.  Here's some tips.  As you set up with your stance.  Point your lead foot to your target.  Square your hips to that target.  To be honest, so what if you are showing the receiver that you are going to serve to them.  Big deal.  If they are a great passer, why are you serving to them?  If they are a bad passer, then you lining up to him/her will make them nervous.

Next, toss the ball above your right shoulder (if your right handed).  If you let the ball land on the ground, it should land about 1 to 2 feet in front of your right foot.

Now, as you toss, you should swing straight through the ball and follow through TOWARD your target.

Now, the hips squaring up thing.  As you gain more experience serving and start executing other types of serves, you will have to line up differently.  For example, I do a side-spin serve where I line up perpindicular to the end line.  Toss the ball to the outside and swing around the ball to cause sidespin.  My shoulders are 90 degrees to my target.  But it took me a long time to master this serve.

However, once the game is on the line and I "just have to make a serve in", I will move back to the basics and move to a straight serve which I explained above.
