i'm 17... and nightmares don't scare me... i just don't like the fact that everytime i have a nighmare, my room is always in it...

i feel really comfortable in my room when i am alone, because i always enjoy being on my own... but i've lived in 3 houses and in all of them i always have nightmares about my room.

normally the nightmares are about ghosts... and they make things come alive in my room or they are invisible, but i know they are there... a few times i even woke up in shock, when i couldn't move my body and i couldn't shout or talk for a few long seconds.

why do i get nightmares about my room if i am so comfortable in it?

  1. i believe that dreams should not be ignored but i also believe that there aren't any hidden messages in them. but the feelings in the dream are real. i don't know about the dream, but when u wake up and can't move, thats called sleep paralysis. wikipedia it. i'm not a sleep analyst, so i'll just say tha i think that ur feeling pressured and trapped so try going out more.

  2. possibly in a previous life, something terrible happened to you in your bedroom, and this recurring theme is a reminder.  Or something terrible may have happened to you in your bedroom before the age of 5, and the nightmares are a reminder.

  3. you subconsciously do not feel safe in your room , try sleeping on the couch 1 day a week

  4. Whenever you dream of your house,  your room or  you bathroom, that may be related to your privacy level.

In your case, dreaming of ghosts or nightmares in your room may suggest that you are feeling insecure.  Not able to move your body suggests that you are losing control.  You may be feeling your privacy being invaded or something in reality may have bothered in a way that you feel you are helpless.
