I'm hearing rumors that Gustav is getting weaker; is that true?

I saw some internet chatter about the storm actually becoming disorganized and heading toward Cat 2 territory instead of up to Cat 4. Is anyone seeing any reputable sources reporting this? It would be great news if it's true.

No it is getting stronger and will not get weaker until it hits land. Whoever told you that is wrong.

It dropped from cat 4 when hit landfall from cuba, now its strengthening in the open warms seas.

No, reports say it will hit land as a cat 3 and yes not proving that will scale to 4...yet! As we know mother nature is unpredictable and random, so things can change in a matter of minutes. But it's not weaking, that's for sad sure!

At 1933 hours the weather channel said that there were sustained 115 mph winds, the storm was rebuilding and reorganizing.
