i agree what ever you do .... you can not compare the the amount of learning that one get at the school while meeting others.

I'm not homeschooled, I have one friend that is, but he kinda is dumb for his age, I mean I asked him something about volcanoes and he had no idea what it was.  Then he says he's at a 12th grade level, and he's in 8th grade, he sucks at lying. I'm glad that he's going to start high school in a public school though.. Of course I'm not saying all home-schooled kids are dumb, just him. :] I'd like to try home-schooling one day though.. just to know what it feels like.. :]

homeschooling is stupid...(i didnt say that word)

the child might learn some school stuff at home..might even get a good education...but as far as being with his/her peers that is not good...a child should have SCHOOL friends..friends the can sit with after schooland do homework and talk about girl/guy things...and nobody is going to tell me that if a parent isnt feeling good that the parent will still teach a child..or that a child will watch tv or play games...not good..what about sports...fieldtrips...commratery...team work...home schooling is not good...maybe the parents are to lazy to get up early to get the kiddies off to school or pick them up after school...again..not good..

I'm homeschooled-and if you consider going from F's to A's within two years retarded, then I really don't know what to say to you.

I was going to a public school up through eigth grade, when I was diagnosed as bi-polar, and was so tired in the morning that I couldn't wake up. Seriously, it's been the best choice we've made. Plus, since I can do my work whenever I want to, I can hang out with my friends more than I ever could before. (:

I was not homeschooled, but I am currently homeschooling my second grade son.  We began homeschooling in November 2006, near the start of his first grade year.

Homeschooling is going well; he enjoys it and is learning a lot..

Yep, I'm home schooled!! And I AM NOT A NERD!!! It's so annoying when everyone thinks that all home schoolers are nerds! I happen to know aLOT of people who are home schooled and are not nerds!

Yes. I'm 14 and, apart from a brief flirtation with school in Primary 3, have been home educated all my life...as have my siblings. My parents and grandparents were home educated too, between Kindie and Year 7.

We live in the Bush so, if we did want to go to school, we'd have to go away to boarding school. The closest public school is approximately 800 kms (500 miles) from our house. Plus, like the first responder, there are medical reasons why I could not go away to school.
