  1. You'll need to ask your local school board on this one.

Many high schools, trade and community colleges have SAT prep classes you can take for free or low cost.

  2. In my state homeschoolers are not required to take any standardized testing, however, if you want to take the tests, the schools have to let you come and take them. I took the FCAT each year because my mom wanted me to. I always got a 5 in reading and a 3 or 4 in math. (Scale of 1-5, with a 2 being minimum passing score and a 3 being on grade level).

I don't think the SAT or ACT is required anywhere...you can choose whether or not to take it. (That's my understanding anyway, and I didn't take either. I'm doing college online and had no issues with not having ACT/SAT scores.)

Your best bet would be to research your state directly, or just take the tests for the sake of not having to worry that you didn't. :-)

    Good luck!

  3. It really depends on which state you live in; some require yearly testing for homeschoolers, and some don't require any at all.

Regardless of your state's requirements, if you want to go to college you will need to take your SAT or ACT test.  The PSAT is good practice for the SAT.
