Okay well on Saturday I went out with my friends at around 4pm and didnt get home until 11pm. The weather was awful, rain so bad that certain areas were flooded and people had to be evacuated from their homes. I was wrapped up well but still came home soaked to the skin. As soon as I got home I took wet clothes off and towel dried myself, then putting warm pyjamas and slippers on. Woke up on Sunday with a bit of a stuffy nose and a bit of a sore throat. I put it down to a cold. Woke up on Monday morning with my temperature through the roof, throat so sore it felt like it was closing over, I couldn't swallow at all but managed to drink some soup. Nose blocked so badly that when I blow it, sometimes it even bleeds slightly and becomes blocked again. Theres constant mucas in the back of my throat. Ive completely lost my apetite and cant even eat if I want because it is so painful to swallow. I haven't eaten since Tuesday evening and I find it difficult to even drink. I have a constant vomit feeling in my stomach and am also starting to get horrible headaches. My glands are swollen and painful also. Im so weak I find it a challenge to even walk or get out of bed. My mother said it was probably a virus or the flu and she got me antibiotics which I have to take four times a day. Is she correct or could this be something more serious? Please help

  1. Drink a lot of water. you will be fine. if not just go to doctor!

  2. Only a doctor can tell you for certain what you have and with your throat feeling as if it is closing over I would seek URGENT medical advice. You may well be suffering from something like a Quinsy (don't know if I spelt that right). It is an abscess on your Tonsils so obviously if you have no tonsils you can rule that straight out. I have had 2 bouts of that and they can be quite frightening. I know that I had to have mine lanced a horrible but painless procedure.

  3. I think you should definitely go to a doctor if you don't get better. Try to eat something! Perhaps make yourself a smoothie. It may help your throat feel better. It's important to eat something so you won't feel sick. Your sugar levels and possibly iron and protein levels are beginning to run on fumes. Grab some yogurt and eat that. That will replenish some levels and help you feel better and not vomit feeling. Bananas are perfect! I eat them when i feel nauseous or sick. Although you may feel so sick you don't want to eat you should try. Eat whatever you can get that has sugar in it and eat it as fast as you can. Try ignoring the nauseous feeling and focus on the need for food.

For sore throat...try mixing some table salt with a small cup full of warm water... mix it around and then gargle it and swish it around in your mouth...don't swallow it...just spit it out...it's supposed to work.

For stuffy nose... ask Mom to go pick up some "Chest rub" from a drugstore or walmart...its a cream you rub under your nostril on your upper lip that helps open up your nose...if you can smell it through your clogged nose it is working.

    Get well soon!

    Hope that helped : )

  5. if you are scared by what you are suffering ,then get yourself to your GP pronto. then when you`re cured , type away and let us know how you did !!

    get well soon

    DOCTOR , NOW  !!

  6. This sounds very much like tonsillitis. I had never had it until February and it totally floored me, far worse than flu would. I always thought tonsillitis was just a sore throat, but it can cause a very dangerous fever, enough to merit hospitalisation.

EDIT - tonsillitis is easily treatable in the short term with a course of penicillin. In the long term, recurring tonsillitis may need a tonsilectomy. It IS still possible to get tonsillitis after removal of the tonsils, though it is likely to take some years. This is because if the tonsils are not trimmed back far enough, they may grow back to a small extent. If you have them removed then a septic throat is more likely. Tonsillitis is caused by tonsil plaque, or tonsil "stones", but you can do something to help prevent them. A good regular gargle with TCP. Gargling with salt water can help relieve it.

  7. if you  are vomiting blood. or even pass blood in your urine then

i suggest that you , phone for an ambulance straightaway,

if anybody passes blood any time ,go straight to the  phone , and call  for an  ambulance ,

       DO NOT LEAVE IT .

hope you feel better soon .
