  1. hey..I would try asics, brooks, saucony or new balance. When you are buying running shoes I suggest that you go to a running specialty store because then you can get fitted for shoes that are right for you and your running mechanics....and that's a big part to making for a successful year with xc. Oh and please please don't buy Nike Shox...they are so bad for your ankles that it's not even funny!

  2. for parctice, asics are GREAT!!!  some people like nike or addidas  but i think asics are the best.  chack out vertical runner(or another show shop)  and see what they say.  never buy runnign shoes without walking around in them first.

for the meets, get spikes.  ask the people at your shoe store (or your coach) which size spikes are the best.  you never want spikes that are to small, but you dont want spikes that are too big.

once you start running, you will find shoes that you like.  remember, test them out with running or walking BEFORE you buy them :-)

BTW runners world magazine may help with picking out a good shoe brand or ANYTHING runnig :-)

  3. It depends on you biometrics (foot / arch type and running form). If you are neutral, try adistar cushion or Asics Nimbus. Otherwise, try Nike Pegasus or Asics 2130.

  4. I run cross country too. Shocks for practice, and you should probably get spikes for meets. But, any good running tennis shoe will be fine for building muscle in practice.

  5. Im in 8th grade too and this fall will be my 2nd season of cross country i run varisty and for practice wear training running shoes, those would be like nikes that hace a thick heel and good arch support and that breath for a meet if your serious about running than but a nice pair of spikes they are exspensive but they work they are light on your feet and they help move you forward

  6. dont buy shocks.

we cant tell you because everyone has different feet.

but since it is distance, buy a shoe that has lots of support for the heel.

  7. Same here, but I'm going into 9th grade.  Try gary gribbles.

    http://www.garrygribbles.com/index.php?c...

That's their website, I'm not sure if they ship or not.  Try calling your local sports store, they can help you there.  or talk to your coach.  Good luck!!
