I'm in AP comparative government, but my teacher focuses on America...?

Is he teaching the wrong stuff? I though comp government didn't have anything to do with America?

  1. Many teachers use the US as a reference at the beginning of a comparative government course. Most textbooks include a chapter on the US. The ideas is that you can begin comparisons with the next country you study.

    My review/test prep book includes a short chapter on the US because the US is so atypical among the collection of political systems.
