I'm in Los Angeles for one night on Friday 21st Nov. I'm travelling from the UK. Where is the coolest bar?

I was hoping to catch a band at the Viper Room or something similar. Any suggestions?

I'm 24 and male, and I like a good beer.

If you go to the Viper Room you can also easily get to the Troubador, Whisky A Go Go, The Roxy, House of Blues, Rainbow Bar & Grill,   Knitting Factory and Key Club for live music, they are all in the same neighborhood. Bring money for cab fare. Whether any of those places has good beer is another thing.

Barney's Beanery on Santa Monica Blvd. has a large beer selection, but it is a bar/restaurant. Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin all hung out there at one time or another.  

All those clubs have websites so check to see who is on the bill for that night and go see a show.

It called the marina a short cab ride from L A X have them drop you off at Venice beach many good bars/pubs and many interesting people about five mins away But outside of the airport cabs are hard to come by You also might try Santa Monica 4th st many expats brits live there Have a good time and welcome The Viper room well cost you about $50 cab fare one way and friday nite in Hollywood it is impossible to get a cab L A is a ''car town'' you must own a car to get  around Make sure they drop you off on the beach not blocks away
