Question:

I'm in NYC over the summer and i was wondering if there are any good sports equipment shops in the city?

Specifically, i'll be looking for soccer boots and american football pads. I have tried previously and only managed to find replica kits and the suchlike, rather than the actual equipment. And i'd much rather not have to travel upstate!

  1. Sports Authority should be able to provide just about anything you need.  There is one at 636 Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave around 19th Street)  and one at 845 3rd Ave between 51st and 52nd St.

    You have to wade through a lot of Yankee and other team licensed gear to find the actual sporting equipment, but they do offer good deals.
