Do not want VOIP and sorry, you are misinformed Vonage is NOT cheap in Canada. Far from it. Dolphin and Digital Voice are about half. No excuse that I can see for Vonage Canadian pricing, dollar was near par when I asked about near double in Canada, now loonie is stronger, still no drop I think. By land line I mean WIRED. Maybe Sprint is useful. BC Tel which I did not mention at all has merged with Alberta's Telus. I liked BCTel very much. Telus? NOOOOOOOOO! Very poor service.

  1. Primus Canada provides service in Vancouver:

  2. Bell canada -------------------- mother of all

  3. Try Vonage, I'm not sure if they have area codes in your area, but you could choose one from somewhere else.  All you need is a broadband connection, and Vonage is really cheap too.

  4. You can always try Shaw Digital Phone.  and as for the comment about Bc tel.  there is no bc tel anymore as Telus bought it out.  Bc tel is just another name for Telus. Thanks Gordon
