I really need help. I've been in this slump for the past week. I mean the only exception was on Tuesday and Friday. But every other day I played Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, I wasn't playing at my best. I can't hit my forehands with the same power i have been, and my forehands wont even go in now. I can't put as much power in forehand or my two-handed backhand. I was able to weeks ago. I was playing my best i could weeks ago. But now, I don't know what to do. I play like 3-4 hours a day at school trying to figure out what's wrong. But I can't, and when I get home I'm frustrated with myself. I try to calm myself down at tennis so I'm focused, but it won't work. I still can't get ANY of my shots in. I really think this is a slump, I don't know how to get out of it. Help and thanks in advance.

  1. You might need to have some cooling off or take a massage to relax yourself.

Ask yourself if there is anything wrong thats going on.

    Family problems?

    To much homework?

    Boyfriend/Girlfriend issues?

Lots of people who are having trouble have struggle in sports.  I really think that you should just relax and take a spa or go for a swim before your tennis game just to cool off and relax yourself, it will help.

It could also be that your intimidated by other players or friends and that you think you might loose your rank, I think this is highly possible that its a slump.

I really think you should maybe have a drink and watch a movie before you go for a match.

Good Luck in future man, hope you overcome this.

    Phil.

  2. It looks like you are in a slump but the only way to improve is to keep on going and play it out. You will find your game eventually and it usually comes with confidence after a few wins. Trust me I am on form recently but at the beginning of the year I was in a slump.

  3. Yes ... your in a  slump ... may even consider taking some days off. Some alternate reasons for poor performance are diet, hydration, and poor sleeping habits.

Try making sure you eat the right foods, hydrate well, sleep at least 8 hours per night .... plus get mentally right ... be positive ... knowing that your favorite shots will be back .. good luck!

  4. Try football.

  5. could it be mononucleosis?

  6. Take a couple of days off and read, "The Inner Game of Tennis".  It will change your game and your life.

  7. 1. i don't know what level of player you are, but to me you seem to suffer a little burn out. you maybe play too much.

    2. conditioning - to maintian high level of form, you need to condition yourself. do you go to gym when you not playing tennis? do you play other sports? sports like soccer and basketball can help your game.

    3. go back to the basic - even the best players need to exam his/hers form constantly, maybe you have changed your form, timing a little that effects your shots. remind yourself to keep your eyes on the ball; bend your knees, turn your shoulder, move your feet, etc.  all the basic stuff.

    4. get a coach to look at your game - sometimes just a little adjustmet helps a great deal.

Tennis is an up-and-down, frustrating game, i wish my forehand and backhand all peak at the same time but it never happened, always some part of the game not up to the par, just have to keep working on it but don't burn out.
