Infinate, I know what you mean about embracing your saddness. It's not good to keep things bottle up inside like most guys do.

  1. Trust me, medication isn't going to take away your feelings of sadness. That's really not what they're designed to do.  They're designed to actually bring you to a level where you can begin to deal with your feelings. I don't know how long you've been on medication, but perhaps you're at a stage now where it's time to start dealing with your feelings.

That's where the real work begins. It can be a long and perhaps hard road, but it's worth it.

Remember that sadness is not abnormal. We humans do feel sad sometimes. I know it may sound strange, but it's good to embrace your sadness. It's only when you do this that you can start facing it and figuring out why it's there. You're never really helpless in this. Dealing with your feelings, that's when you know that you're not helpless at all. You may not get instant results, but just remember that it's a journey and remember that most of us all feel this way. We just imagine that everyone else is happy and they have no problems. This isn't the case at all....

But don't expect the medication to just take care of everything. It can help, but we are in charge of the rest...

I don't know if this will help, but I hope it does

  2. You have to find happiness within yourself the counseling could possibly help some but the medication wears off and it is only temporary feelings of happiness

  3. Because healing depression takes years for some and weeks for others. It takes time to feel better. The point to therpay is to find out and work through the issues and problems that are getting you down and holding you back. Mine took 9 years on and off.
