I really don't want to go to the same school I have been going to here, and my dad works in this town so he can drive me. I want a new start more then anything. I live in New Jersey if that is important.

  1. I know where I grew up we were allowed to do so but we had to pay the school. Almost like a private school tuition, but where I live now you can petition the school board to switch schools. What you can do is go to the town's website and they should have their school district info. posted somewhere online for you to read.

  2. It depends on your state. If the highschool in the town next to you is in your district (My town's highschool is in the same district as the three other highschools in surrounding towns), then you will definitely be able to switch easily. Because your father works in that town, even if the highschool is not in the same district, it should also not be too hard to switch. Here it is much easier to transfer if your parents work in that town. However, if it isn't in the same district, you will most likely have to petition to switch.

My grandmother (who lives in Connecticut, I live in California) was telling me recently that back there you have to pay if you want to switch to another district. Here, it is free, but you need to petition (and that means you will need good grades, etc, depending on how good the school you want to switch to is).

  3. Yes. You just need to register for that school, & see if they accept you or not.

My brother goes to a high school that's not in our district, just because he wanted to switch.

  4. Yes but you may have to pay tuition. Your parents  can call and ask them about it.

  5. You have to get an boundary exception, or if you know somebody that lives in the school boundaries you can put that as your address thats what my cousin did with my address.

  6. god i know how you feel! i dont wanna go to the same high school anymore either! um just ask your parents to get you a transfer OR an even better idea is get a family member/friend to let you use their address like youre living near the school! :]

  7. It is a question of school zoning..Your parents will have to apply for space and give a reason for you to transfere.

  8. yea just tell your parents you want to change schools

  9. Call the Bd. of Ed and see if that is possible.
