  1. Being homeschooled in highschool allows you to be flexible and pick your schedule/credits.

These are the classes/credits you HAVE to take in highschool (by the way, this is a distinguised graduation plan (24 credits). You can most likely take less credits than these, but you'll get a basic feel of what credits you need):

    LANGUAGE  ARTS  4 credits

    MATHEMATICS      3 credits

    Algebra I   (1)

    Geometry   (1)

    Algebra II   (1)

    NATURAL SCIENCE       3 1/2 credits

    Health     (1/2)

    Biology    (1)

    Chemistry    (1)

Other (Like Physics or Advance Biology)  (1)

FOREIGN LANGUAGE    3 credits in same language

    COMMUNICATIONS1/2 credit

    Speech    (1/2)

    HUMANITIES   3 1/2 credits

    World Geography    (1)

    American History     (1)

    World History         (1)

    US Government      (1/2)

    BUSINESS                        1 1/2 credits

    Computer Applications   (1)

    Economics                    (1/2)

    FINE ARTS                        1 credit

    ATHLETICS                       1 1/2 credits

    OTHER ELECTIVES          2 1/2 credits

You will most likely have questions and it's alot to write down, so email me if you have ANY questions or need any help. Good luck!

  2. Home Schooling

  3. I think I can help you out.  Your school district may have a program for sick students.  A certified teacher sends work to your house and tutors you there. I know some states offer it to very ill students and teens who are pregnant.  You are probably sick enough to qualify.   TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS:  Call your school's principal and tell him just what you are telling us.  See what he can do for you.  Also try contacting your states Division of Non Public Education.

To help yourself:  Go online and download the "Core goals" or "Learning Goals" for the major subjects in your grade.  Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science.

Print out these goals.  Read them carefully.  Highlight any goal that looks unfamiliar, something you know you have not studied at all.  Get online and go to your public library's online catalog.  Browse by subject and "request items" that deal with those topics.  Try to study on your own several hours a day if you can.

Check out www.k12.com   IT costs $30 per class and you can get high school credit that way, I think.

Books like Calculus for Dummies, Biology for Dummies, Cliff notes, etc.  are expensive but you might be able to get them from a source like Half.com.

Above all, be persistant.  Do you have academically able relatives that can help you out?

  4. Well ask your parents to help you with some of the school work that they give in your grade and maybe you can learn more. I've never beenhome-schooled so hope that helps.
