Geminis aren't bad at all (most of them anyway).  They are not the best choice for everyone.  They will contradict everyone around them including themselves, and blow unpredictably from hot and cold---but probably less with so with other air signs (b/c there's is more mutual understanding??), so I would say you two are compatible.

Geminis generally live and let live and will rarely bog you down, but they can become ultra sensitive (out of the blue of course) from time to time.
