Hi, I have a new construction job coming up and I'm not use to buy the equipment but for this project I'm taking full control. My question is where can i find concrete forms(various sizes such as 2 by 8 and 2 by 6). I'd like to rent them not buy but if i have to i will. Also I'm on a tight budget so I'm looking for the cheapest prices. Thank you in advance

  1. Most contractors I know build thier own forms..and some you will have to anyway..for all forms are not standard and you will have to make some...Now concrete contractors are able to keep thier forms for alot and most are a standard size and you may possibly call around to them and ask if they will rent some...There are a few "tristate" areas in the usa btw

  2. Look in the phone book under concrete forms. / materials. Chances are you will find a form rental outfit. You give them the foundation plan and they rent you the forms you need and most give you a color coded diagram of the layout of the forms. If you need to cut one they typically charge you by the cut. They will even bring the snap ties, wedge shoes and spreader cleats. Buying them is not worth it unless you will be doing alot of foundations and have a good place to store them.

  3. sometimes you can find a person selling the ones they used for thier project and are trying to recoop some of the money they spent on all that material. look in your local papers around town. They sell them pretty cheap most times
