I'm in the army national guard and i'm thinking about getting a divorce. Can JAG help me out or do i need a civilian lawyer? I dont have any money so I'm looking for a solution that wont bankrupt me. Can i use a JAG lawyer or am i SOL til i get money?

  1. Not unless you are on active duty status for 30 days or more.  

    ADD:  Oh, and you need to show mobilization orders.


  2. You can do it yourself if you both agree on everything alls you have to do is get the booklet from the courthouse and fill it out it might be 50$ or something it probably depends where you live.Good luck!!

  4. Military has nothing to do with divorces. You have to go to your courthouse were you live.

  6. You can settle it outside but as someone suggested, don't use legalzoom if you want out fast because it can take a lengthy amount of time  

  7. Nope you need to seek outside counsel...It would be nice if they could do that, but that's one thing the military doesn't offer.
