Looking to buy a new portable table saw . I had a DELTA 10" portbale that lasted 12 years. I'm looking @ BOSCH or HITACHI ( MADE IN JAPAN). I want something that will last me a long time. Quality vs. Quantity. Anybody have experience w/ either brand- which is better?

  1. Dewalt is contractor grade, most professionals use dewalt.

Milwaukee is entirely tools meant to be serviced when they break, another good brand.

Most "consumer grade" tools are built to be practically disposable.  If you got your Delta 12 years ago, before companies did "consumer grade" plastic c**p, you will be disappointed when you shop for tools made to last.

All that said, I'm too poor to pay for top grade tools so I go with cheap tools. personal preference would be the bosch.  If the store has a model set up, check the quality of the fence and the blade adjustments especially.  those can turn a decent saw into a useless saw real fast.

  2. DeWalt makes a good one.
