I'm in the market for a new set of irons and I need advice!?

I've narrowed it down to the TaylorMade R7 Draw, the Nike CCi, and the Callaway X18. All would be steel shafts, reg flex, reg length. Any advice?

  1. Hey its not all about the clubs its all about your skills I bought an old set of clubs and I can hit just as far as my friends new clubs. So just focus on your skills and just s***w the new clubs.

  2. since you are willing to spend...go for the taylor's

  3. Bottom line is get the one that YOU hit the best.  Just out of curiosity, what else was on your list that you narrowed down from?

  4. To be honest with you, you're just paying for a name with all of those clubs.  I bought a set of Dunlop clubs at WalMart a few years back, paid $125 for the whole set including a bag.  I can hit the ball just as far and just as straight as all the guys at the course with all of the top name brands.  Just because you go out and spend a grand on a set of irons doesn't mean your game is going to get any better.

  5. You'll save a lot of money and there is no sacrifice in quality when you go with clones.

To the asker: Don't let the 'thumbs down' dissuade you from reading the link!

  6. FYI, Rock Bottom has both the r7 Draws ($369, steel, regular flex) and CCi's ($349, steel, stiff flex) on sale right now - just got their newsletter this morning.

If you enter Slick10Off during checkout you'll get 10% off your order total, which always helps.

    Best of luck!

  7. The Taylor R7 draw are made for someone with a slicing problem, or someone who hit it straight, but wants to hit it right to left.  I am not familiar with the Nike CCi, they are a shoe company.  The Calloway X18s are a great club so I would recommend them.  But the most important is to find a demo day or somewhere you can hit different brands and see what works best for you, then decide.
