I'm installing a dryer. How can I tell if an old dryer vent/outlet is okay to use?

The basement was dark so I didn't get a good look. But the pipe appeared bent and kinda black. I've never installed a dryer before.

  1. Get a leaf blower and blow the heck out of the vent to clean it out.


  2. Hire a professional so that you do not encounter any problems that could end up costing you a great deal of $.
