  1. ...Marry a Bush or Cheney.

  2. I was just about to answer, 'Be a good liar', but read the other answers 1st.

You will have to be prepared to sacrifice your own convictions & to be untrue to yourself.

I believe Britain stands up for a lot that is right, but also a lot that is very wrong.

How much is your integrity worth?

  3. Study foreign diplomacy, government and law to become a good diplomat.

  4. In any form of Civil Sevice government based job like this you will need to be.

Self absorbed, self opinionated, arrogant, obnoxious and have the ability to lie through your back teeth whilst smiling nicely.

If you have those qualities - you'll do fine

  5. Usually a first class honours degree. With one party it should be The classics or Science, or Politics.

With the other it is 2nd class from a correspondence college and in underwater basket weaving.

  6. I'd have thought working for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office would be a first step

  7. U must have a good sense of humor and be able to down a pint in less than minute.

  8. The usual requirement is an upper second honours degree or better (from a proper university) to get you into the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from where you would seek a position in the Diplomatic mission. A good command of a foreign language is important (French used to be mandatory).
