I'm interested in community and urban development/planning, what major would be best?

Like how communities fit together, effects of globalization, building economically and environmentally stable and sustainable cities and communities, etc

I'm thinking sociology major right now. I'm an undergrad in my first year.

Some colleges offer a degree in Urban Studies.  Check with an academic advisor at your current college and see if there is a similar degree program offered there.  If not, you may wish to transfer to another college.  I'm not sure where you live, so the best thing to do would be to search for "urban studies degree" and see if any colleges that are  near you or that interest you come up.  I'll put a link to my Yahoo! search for that in the sources.
