I'm interested in competing in an amateur bodybuilding competition but don't know where to start?

First you can check with your gym to see if they are sponsoring a competition in your area. Gyms around major cities sponsor many events.

The Amateur Bodybuilders Association (ABA) and the National Amateur Bodybuilder Association (NABBA) have amateur level contests all over the country. Check the link for schedules for 2008.

Contact them and they can give you all the info as to what the requirements are to enter the contest, such as drug testing, weight classes, ages (teen, Masters level),  etc.
