I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.

Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.

So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. I see this as being one of the next big home businesses since it is one of the first that uses Ebay. I have never heard of alpine? What is that about? I have researched a lot of different home based jobs and businesses. There are a lot of good opportunities available. Find something you will like to do and you know you can do and then start doing your research. You should pick a work at home business based on your interests.  For example if you are interested in candles, make-up, home products etc...you should look up companies for this.  The reason being is that you have a find something that will excite you or you may not do well in your business.  Most work at home businesses will ask you for a fee and this is because you are going into business for yourself (which you usually get training materials and products).

As for Alpine, I do know some about this company.  This is not a business but a work at home job.  This company does not hire in every state, requires a $30 background check fee, and is a legitimate company.  This company takes inbound calls for various clients.  They pay about $8 and hour (depending on what client they hire you for).  I do not work for the company but have a friend who does and she loves the company.
