But since I was a kid I've found great white sharks really interesting... what type of career could I persue with that? Not like 'uber-scientist, how many cells make up a shark membrane'...

  1. Oceanographer. Be a female Jacque Custo!

  2. To be honest, the quickest and easiest way to make a career out of great white sharks (Carcharadon carcharias) is not through marine biology, but through photography.  If you can get some new and interesting shots, you can sell them all over the world.  You still have to be a certified diver either way, and you still have to know all the marine biology stuff, but you can pick up most of that from the internet and you don't need a degree in it.  You don't need a degree in photography or cinematography either, but you need to be good, and if you don't go for a degree, you still need to educate yourself.

Actually, if I were you, I'd learn to fly ultra-light aircraft, and then fly high (2,000 ft.+) over seal rookeries filming great whites feeding.  With footage like that, you wouldn't need to be Cecil B. de Mille to turn out some killer documentaries for a pittance.

  3. California State Park Ranger - B.A. or better with double major in Science and Law Enforcement.  Failing that, the

enforcement arm of Federal Fish and Game.  You need to

have lethal teeth too if around wild great white sharks.

  4. Marine biology

  5. An Elasmobranch Biologist, or just a Marine Biologist, work at an aquarium, work with a shark diving tour company.

  6. Major in zoology as an undergrad and ichthyology as a graduate student. Or fishery biology. Go for a government or teaching job.

  7. you could cover yourself in animal blood and become a proffesional shark feeder - a short lived career i might add.
