  1. Switzerland... really cheap, quality properties in a gorgeous country

    Maj

  2. Just wait one year... property in the United States will be DIRT cheap. It'll be THE place to invest.

I would avoid countries like Costa Rica, Panama, and Turkey, and similar countries which have sketchy property ownership laws.

The British Commonwealth, especially throughout the caribbean might be good also.

  3. You can figute that out by going through the different websites of each country you have in mind.  You have to consider also the taxes here and there.

  5. Hi

Investing abroad is a great idea.

Better open a high yield account in a bank in Eastern Europe. You will get a 12% APY with NO RISK. All deposits are insured by the government.

If you had $100,000 to invest for 5 years at 12% p.a. compounded yearly, it would be worth $176,234 after 5 years.

I have opened such a high yield account 5 years ago. Email me for more info.

    Good luck!

  6. Thumbs up for buying in the U.S.

Property is about as cheap as its going to get.

The U.S. dollar is weak and buying anything in a "safe" overseas environment will be expensive.

If you have to buy overseas I would say look at South America or Central America.

  7. I'd invest in the Emerging markets......like Russia or if you can do some research Frontier Markets like Trinidad and Tobago.....stay out of the UK......You don't necessarily have to invest directly in the property, just in the industry, say a real estate company

  8. Perhaps the states is a little far to go for a property that you are investing in and I am guessing might actually want to use?

I'll put a list of resources below for you to go through, but you are right.  There is a lot of talk about first time buyers investing in property abroad because it is cheaper and it is an investment for the furture when prices have come down to an affordable level, mortgages have sorted themselves out and people have saved money from their property investment.

Marrakech is very popular at the moment and it is only 3 hours by plane.  Cheap and quite possibly one of the most amazing places ont he planet.  Go for a holiday if nothing else.

Or if you are thinking a bit further a field, then what about Brazil for a little over £14K??  If you thought that Brazil was just huts and carnivals, then think again.  Brazil is a part of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) phenomenon, and is forecast to become one of the world’s four biggest economies by 2050.  Invest now and you will reap rewards.

Either way, the site http://www.ready2invest.co.uk has all of the information that you could want on property investment.
