I'm interested in investment banking, but I go to community college with mediocre grades?

Recently I got straight A's at my community college though and I plan on transferring to a 4-year university to get a bachelor's in finance. Besides focusing my degree on business, I have no prior experience with economics or anything business-related. What can I do to put my foot in the door and open up opportunities for myself at this point in time?

What can I do to now to increase my chances in the future when it comes? Should I get a diverse work history? I plan on redoing some courses that I got some iffy grades in previous semesters. My mediocre grades have come from me not really knowing what to do, but investment banking seems to interest me the most.

By the way, I'm in my second year of college starting this coming fall.

  1. Once you get your degree, people don't ask what your grades are.  Just make sure you graduate!
