  1. I think the answer to your question depends on why you want to study abroad and what you're looking for a program in (foreign languages, English/Literature, etc.). The answer also depends on whether you're in school already or if you're planning on studying abroad before school and/or just for fun. If you're doing it to further your career, there are several organizations that will sponsor you as an employee. My brother, earning his MBA at Belmont University in Nashville had the opportunity to attend international business courses in Prague. Higheredjobs.com often has postings for teaching-abroad opportunities as does Peace Corps, where you live and work in a community for 2 years and get money and/or teaching certification. If you are trying to do this in order to earn credit for school, you might want to enroll first and then talk to your study abroad office. If you are at a school that does not have study abroad programs of its own, then you might want to look into CCSA (The Cooperative Center for Study Abroad): http://www.ccsa.cc/ccsa_new_site/CCSA_Ho... Once you have information about a program you are interested in, you will attend with a group made up of students/teachers from other schools. I would check with your registrar's office, however, to make sure that the credits will transfer (or else, you could have a lovely time studying abroad but have to spend an extra semester in school having to make up for it). I studied for a semester in Cambridge, England with CCSA and had a great time as an English major. They not only provided us with classrooms at Cambridge, but also planned great outings. We went to the Globe in London, had tickets to plays and Shakespeare festivals, and went on a two-week trip up through Sherwood Forest, York, and Edinburgh (Scotland). The only downside to studying abroad with CCSA is that you often live with host families. If your family is a good match, then you're set, but it helps to have a friend or to make a friend in the group before you go. Then, you can ask to be roomed together. My fiance (now husband) was with me at the time and we were able to stay together. This really helped us both adjust to the culture shock of being in a completely different country for 3+ months. If you're not sure what you want to study, etc., you can also volunteer to do eco-volunteerism in other countries (because Peace Corps can be a tough commitment). There are several books that you could check out from your local library that give lists of the best websites/organizations.

  2. you haven't told us what level of education your on. however, u can try the british high commission or british embassy in your country(if there's one). they have all the information and advice you may need regarding studying in Britain.

The universities, colleges and other institutions are worldwide recognized and Britain is the best place to school from. The environment, society, culture, people. Its really cool.
