  1. american military university is really good if you or your spouse is in the military.

university of pheonixi hear is good as well.

find your local college online and see what they offer.  lots of schoools nowadays offer classes online.

  2. I did mine through Open University so I could work and gain qualification-its great cos you get experience alongside the qualification!

Look at local colleges and read up on how they offer the course...you need to feel comfortable with what they expect you to do, and its handy not to have to travel too far as your time will be spent a lot on paperwork!

You may want to ask settings in your area where they would recommend as they would have a rough idea!

  3. Congrats on deciding to get your ECE diploma! I've just applied to a local college and am hoping to be accepted for the fall.

First, do you want to teach mainstream/traditional preschool or Montessori? Look into the pros and cons of each and the differences in the classroom. That was a big thing for me and I easily decided on Montessori. But, traditional may make more sense to you. It's good to try and figure that out right away.

Which school you choose depends on your location as well. I can recommend a bunch of Canadian schools but if you're in the US, you probably want to choose an American school. Also, you should check with your province/state ministry for children and families to find out what the requirements are for ECE in your area. If you get your diploma from (for example) a California college but plan to teach in Oregon, you may not actually be qualified and need additional classes. Check into that before making your decision.

One more thing to keep in mind is that a lot of preschools and daycares won't hire someone who hasn't taken a hands-on course. I know in my area, a distance or online program won't qualify me to teach preschool. I also need to have a 500-hour practicum. This may be required where you live, too, so check into it.

If you need to work while going to school, most colleges offer a part-time option as well as full-time.

Good luck! Sorry I can't directly answer your questions, but hopefully that helps.
