  1. If you have a wood stove maybe you should buy java logs, they're logs made out of coffee beans and they are really cheap. They burn for a long time and work really well. You can find them at WalMart.


  2. In India a wood burning iron stove costs about USD 1. Baked mud ones are cheaper. How would  a cat converter be attached to this? At what cost?

    Phillips of Holland have made a controller, which runs off a thermopile powered by the stove itself. This drives a small fan, again powered by the stove itself to adjust the combustion air so that the combustion products have minimal carbon monoxide.

    This seems to be a better option for such 'no-tech' devices.

  3. catalytic converters use a platinum element which stays hot to burn any unburned hydrocarbons. I not sure if it would do anything on a wood burning stove
