  1. Watch Hostel. Those French people are out of their friggin' minds. And they are predjustice towards Americans. They think we're all stupid. They talek to me like I was in kindergarten,@ssholes.

I say go to Italy, the people are so friggin' awesome that you might not want to come back.

And it's customary for people to kiss-kiss EVERYTIME they see you, rock that out!!

  2. Paris is in France. If you are trying to decide to go to Paris or somewhere else in France, I would do both.

South of France is amazing, so is the Loire valley.

    The whole country is great.

    And the trains amazing.

  3. Paris is actually in France.

  4. If you go to France, you should definitely see Paris :)

  5. I like London, but I infinitely prefer Paris! Both are expensive, but Paris is way, way cheaper, especially when it comes to no-frills accommodations. Paris is compact so it's easy to get around, to a large extent by foot. London feels big, like it'll swallow you up, faster-paced, more stressful whereas Paris is more relaxed, romantic, charming.

You could easily spend a week each in both cities, but it's doable to visit both in a week, just catching the highlights.

In Paris, the non-obvious, less touristy things:

Pick up "Pariscope" at a newstand, it's a weekly events guide with concerts, films, etc., etc. For events that aren't big and famous, you don't have to buy a ticket in advance. Btw the start of its week is Wed., so don't buy Pariscope on Tuesday!

Festivals: There are a ton of these, especially the summer. Some free ones:

La Nuit de la Musique (July, one night) - music performances -and partying- on the streets of Paris - all night long

La Nuit Blanche (Sept, one night) - free entry to concerts, art installations, some museums - all night long

Journees du Patrimoine (Sept, one weekend) - public buildings normally off-limits are open to the public

Cinema en Plein Air (several weeks over summer) - have a picnic and watch a film at the same time at Parc de la Villette

Visit a smaller museum instead of (or in addition to) one of the big ones

Do a walking tour in an outer arrondissement, like the 19th/20th. Here, you find Pere Lachaise, metro Gambetta (a pleasant area), a couple parks (Belleville, Buttes-Chaumont), North African & Chinese neighborhoods where you can browse shops, and eat some goodies. The nice thing about the outer areas is that few tourists go here so you'll get to see a different side of Paris.

Browse the shops on a rue pietonne (pedestrian street), like rue Cler (7th arrondissement, near Eiffel Tower).

  6. Paris is in France. You should talk to some of the locals. They can tell you some of the off the path places you should visit.

  7. Things you may visit in Paris:

    1.- Eiffel Tower

    2.- Notre Dame Gothic Cathedral

3.- Sacre Coeur & Montmartre (square where artists paint)

4.- Pere Lechaise Cemetary (where people like Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison or Edith Piaf are buried)

5.- Saint Chapelle (Extremely beautiful chapel in the heart of Paris)

6.- Concergerie (Prison where people like Marie Antoinette stayed before going to the scaffold)

7.- Louvre Museum (where you may see the Hammurabi Code, Gioconda, Virgin of the Rocks, Venus de Milo or Coronation of Napoleon among others...)

8.- Les Invalides (where Napoleon is buried)

9.- You may take the subway to visit Versailles or Fontainebleau

And there are lots more museums but these are the more known ones.

If you still have time and money to go to London, you may get the Eurostar train from Paris to London and enjoy London!

I hope you enjoy your trip whenever you go!!!!!

  8. paris. the city is BEAUTIFUL. all the buildings are so classic and pretty! most people speak english there. if you dont know any french i suggest learning a few phrases, because if you at least try to speak french there, you will be respected much more.

  9. Well, if you go to Paris, you're already in France...you could go to Rome or Italy though....(:>))
