  1. use cold Fiji water

use freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee beans

use the best beans you can, preferably 100% kona or 100% blue mountain from Jamaica.

  2. Here are some suggestions for making good coffee

    1. Buy quality coffee beans in an airtight bag from a reputable supplier.

    2. Grind only as many beans as you need for each brew.

    3. Use the correct coffee grinder to grind beans. Brew your coffee for the correct length of time.

    4. Use good water for making coffee as 98% of coffee is water.

    5. Boil the water and then let it cool for a minute or two. The temperature just below boiling point is best for making coffee.

    6. Flavorings such as vanilla extract, cocoa powder, or ground cinnamon can be added to make the coffee more tasty.

  3. Use freshly ground (as in ground just minutes before use) and if you want a nice stronge coffee..use more ground coffee per pot instead of brewing it longer. Longer brewing times just makes the coffee bitter.

I use 4 rounded coffee"scoops" (that's about a good tablespoon per scoop) per 10 cup pot....for a nice medium strength cup of coffee. I always served it with heavy (whipping)cream...not "half & half" and fine sugar.

Also, use a filtered water...I use distilled...in order to avoid the chemicals placed in most tap water. They will effect the taste of your coffee.

I like to use Starbuck's House Blend for a great cup of basic no nonsense coffee.
