I'm joining the Navy...?

Out of college, I've decided to join the Navy, even though I am a woman, most of the men in my life, think twice before they touch me. I'm quick, agile, strong for my size, and many other things. Their are many women who are stronger than me in the world. And many more men. But since I was young I've always dreamed of fighting the bad guys. My favorite movies are Rambo, haha. I don't know why, it just appeals to me. I have a very manly personality, I'm not girly, and I don't think I've ever said "oh my god" in my life. All my friendships are superficial to me, and I really don't require them to be happy, I have a very solitary personality, friends and family always tell me how I shouldn't bite my nails, I should take better care of myself, because men like that, and my response is always "Do I look like I give a ****, if the man doesn't like me for such and such reason, what business does he have with me anyways'.....but in saying that I'm feminine as well to an extent.

Most people would say I couldn't do it, because you have to kill people to be a Navy Seal. Well...I haven't killed anyone, but about 5 yeasr ago when my house was broken into. Me and my mother are the only ones that live in the house, and of course she can't protect herself, I grabbed the Baretta she had bought that I kept in my room, and as this "gangsta" thug guy was coming out of the living room, I pointed the gun at him and shot him right in the shoulder, needless to say he didn't have a gun,, which was lucky on my behalf, but I wasn't haunted by what I had done, I didn't care two cents about him, and if he died or not...I'm not sure if he did because he took off afterwards in their "getaway" car. Either way it was my mother or them, and I'd be damned if they had layed a finger on her.

I raised my self practically, due to not so good family relationships, and I've learned to be independent, and strong for myself. I'm my own person, and being around people who are tough and dependable like myself, would definitely be the job of my dreams. Once I've been in the service I've even planned on testing myself to see if I can meet the requirements of a Navy Seal, as a man, not a woman. Of course, I would never be able to join. But knowing I could if it was legal would be enough for me. I've dreamed of being a Navy Seal for a long time, but unfortunately thats not reality. As of now, since I work at a Gym to get myself through college, I'm going to work out everyday possible, to be able to achieve the requirements of a Seal, even swimming the 500 yards in under 12 minutes, Gold's Gym does a pool in Plano. However I'm shooting for higher than the requirements state...but like I said I can't be a Navy Seal, so it's a personal goal. I took my Asvab test at an Airforce Base while still in highschool, and if I remember correctly I scored a 76. I didn't get into depth with my Navy Recruiter about how good it was, so I really don't know, but he said I met the requirements.

I'm going to give it a lot of thought. But I respect my grandfather out of my whole family, he was a Command Sergent Major in the Vietnam and Korean war, and even joined the Army at 17, lying about his age. He was in the service for 30 years, but it took a toll on his heart being in those wars, and mentally as well. So I'm fully aware of the consequences of not only dying but getting sick and having problems when I get older. So what do you think? Do you think I'm stupid? Do you think because I'm a woman I shouldn't even consider my dream....state your opinions...I'd love to hear them....
