I'm just looking for a rough estimate?

Okay, so long story short I just bought a cute little fixer upper car a '98 dodge avenger. The previous owner was some dumb dumb girl who had the car lowered way down. Like, springs cut, I can't take it over speed bumps lowered. I;m sort of just looking for an estimate on what it would cost to get all 4 springs replaced to bring the car but up to a normal level. Thanks so much !

  1. If you want performance springs, you can get Eibachs. If you want a pleasant original ride, get used or factory parts. I prefer the factory ride myself.

  2. i believe there will be more than one set of springs that will work on the car.. wrecking yards would be your best bet for the parts.  ask for any comperable springs or call dodge and ask them which other cars they made use the same ones . this will make it alot easier on you finding them as not to limit the parts to one specific car model. you'll need the right tools to do this. struts require some talent. you will also need to re=align it after bringing it back up. most front end shops will cut you a deal if you have the springs.. usually around the 50-100.00 each

  3. Sorry to hear the previous owner was an idiot. Consider this, call napa and get a price on the strut assemblies, they sell them complete with new struts, mounts, and springs, simply bolt them on. No spring compressor needed. You should be able to get them for 100-125 each complete. Stay away from used springs, thats like purchasing used oil from a junk yard and putting it in your engine. If you supply the complete assemblies to a shop figure 4 hours labor to install them so 400.00 is the going rate. Total investment for everything 800-1000 dollars and your suspension will be set forever.

  4. I would guess $500 minimum, $800 or $900 maximum.

  5. Well , if you have someone to do it for you, then you can get springs from the junkyard and put them in your car, but it is a lot of labor involved. Yeah, probably $1000 if you don't know a mechanic with air tools. You might want to look into getting hydraulics put in, then the boys would rally think you are cool, but that would cost more.
