I'm just watching the Horse Show at Olympia, and.....?

....in the Puissance, a lot of the horses are wearing what looks like little caps that cover their ears and the tops of their heads. What are they? Are they to block out the noise of the crowd?

correct,the caps are to hide the noise and allow the horse to really focus on the job.
