Hey I found this pattern to make a :"booby scarf" on knitty.com and was trying to do it but found a problem. Its so long length wise CO21 but then when i need to make the bobble (boobie) it says to work 5 sts, wrap next st, turn, Bur what about the remaining sts on the needle??? help please. I really want to make this.

  1. I'm only a beginner knitter and haven't actually tried knitting this scarf, but from looking at the pattern, I would guess that if it says to leave stitches on the needle, then leave them.  Turn when it says to turn.  Each "boobie" is made by extra rows of stitches, which is what makes them bulge from the otherwise flat surface of the scarf. It looks as though the pattern tells you how to "incorporate" each boobie back into the scarf, and you end up picking up the "extra" stitches when you come back around, eventually.  Remember the whole point is uneven rows, in order to make the little "b***s." It's a cool scarf. Good luck!

  2. The pattern is telling you to work what are called "short rows"   If you just trust the pattern and do what it says, it will turn out fine.  If you need help with the idea of short rows, try a knitting website like    www.knittingpatterncentral.com    They have a section of "how-tos"  that may help.    You could also go on Youtube and type in "knitting short rows"  in the search to see if there is a video showing the technique

  3. Here is a video link that will clarify how to do a bobble. You have to return to the front after making it to continue your pattern .
