I hear buell have some maintenance issues and may even lack a little on the power side. Does this have definite proof or just opinion?

  1. get the buell with a rotax motor.. class and fast.

  2. I have a firebolt (love the bike) . Like the other guy said the buell will make power at lower rpm's & will max out at about 135-140 mph. The honda make's it's power at higher rpm's (i.e sewing machine) but will top out at higher speed's.The buell will be faster off the line but the honda will top out higher. As far as handling & braking goes i'll put the buell up against the honda any day. So it's up to you, do you want the roar & rumble of the harley motor. Or do you want to ride around on a pissed off sewing machine with a bike that look's like it's out of star war's.

  3. It depends on your style and budget. If think BUELL is a way better bike. But not the bolt, the bolt just sucks.

If you are looking for a sport bike, I would recommend a Yamaha R6. Way better than the honda.

    Good luck.

  4. Buell is the best then  you will have something not a Household Finance squid ride.

  5. This is a terrible place to get anything BUT opinion.

They should both handle comparably... the engine designs are completely different however

the buell engine is based off of a harley sportster 1200 (which also says there are no maintenance or reliability issues, that design is pretty bullet proof)  the honda is an inline 4

a vtwin (buell) makes lots of low-mid rpm power

an inline (honda) makes lots of mid-high rpm power

so really, how do you intend to ride?  if you're all about screaming down a road and riding like an *** at wide open throttle, you go honda

if you want good punch off the line and have no need for 150+mph, you go buell

  6. Buells are nice looking bikes, but I wouldn't buy it.  It is a beefed up Harely Davidson Sportster 1200 or XB9 900 cc.  The Honda have ways better reliabilities and horse power then Buells.  You won't regret getting the CBR.

  7. The CBR 600 will be faster, handle better and be more reliable. For the price of a Firebolt you could buy a CBR 1000 and the performance gap would be even greater.

I've rode all 3. The new CBR 1000 is a great bike.
